Submerged Combustion Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Submerged Combustion Specialist to join our MAGMA team at O-I Glass. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of advanced industrial equipment, including the submerged combustion melter, the finer, the forehearth, and the support systems.

• Fusion Process Monitoring: Monitor the fusion process and make adjustments as needed to ensure optimal performance.
• Alarm Response: Respond quickly to alarms, identifying and correcting malfunctions or escalating to supervision when necessary.
• Equipment Maintenance: Troubleshoot and correct minor issues with industrial equipment, and carry out routine preventive maintenance to ensure equipment is running efficiently.
• Quality Assurance: Perform quality checks and accurately enter data into the quality spreadsheet to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Team Collaboration: Work with fellow operators on non-routine tasks related to start-ups and shut-downs to ensure a smooth operation.
• Reporting: Produce precise system status reports as requested to provide visibility into equipment performance.
• Process Improvement: Use your analytical skills to propose and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
• Daily Maintenance: Maintain a clean working environment through daily line cleaning to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
• Feeding Process Monitoring: Oversee the feeding process and respond to alarms as required to ensure optimal performance.

• Up to 20% travel to other O-I/MAGMA facilities may be required to support equipment maintenance and training.

• Experience: Previous experience in manufacturing or production is preferred, but not required.
• Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with high-temperature industrial processes and controls is essential.
• Software Skills: Basic knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
• Bonus Skills: Electromechanical experience is a plus, but not required.
• Communication: Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset are essential to ensure effective collaboration with colleagues.

O-I Glass offers a competitive salary range of $65,000 to $81,200 USD, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision care coverage, generous insurance discounts, and a 401(k) retirement savings plan.
