Position Summary:
We are on the lookout for dedicated customer service sales professionals who are eager to excel in their roles. Ideal candidates enjoy engaging with customers who seek high-quality products at competitive prices, supported by knowledgeable staff. We value individuals who take pride in their appearance, the store environment, and their expertise in product knowledge. Exceptional customer service is our top priority.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist customers in selecting, applying, and purchasing a variety of fasteners, industrial hardware, tools, and maintenance supplies.
- Respond to customer inquiries via walk-in and telephone, providing information on product knowledge, special requests, and pricing.
- Manage customer special orders, ensuring clarity in requirements and specifications.
- Locate and retrieve products from the stockroom efficiently.
- Complete transactions and assist with product shipments as necessary.
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with both new and existing customers.
- Contribute to the cleanliness and organization of the store, adhering to product presentation standards.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- A minimum of 1 year of retail experience, preferably in an industrial environment.
- Strong math, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proficient in computer usage.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Highly organized and self-motivated.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to move quickly to fulfill orders and assist customers.
- Capable of standing and walking for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks associated with the role.
- Ability to unload freight and stock shelves as needed.
- Proficient in using hands for keyboard input and inventory lookups.
- Must be able to answer phones and take customer orders.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Full-time position with 40 hours per week.
- Starting pay at $24 per hour, with a pay range of $24 - $28 per hour.
- Eligibility for a discretionary year-end bonus.
