Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop software to facilitate cooperation among various hardware devices
  • Design, implement, modify, and deploy Linux kernel drivers for unique hardware
  • Collaborate with hardware teams to create hardware/software interfaces
  • Initialize Linux on new hardware platforms
  • Modify essential kernel subsystems to support innovative hardware functionalities
  • Engage in all phases of product design, including architecture, development, and validation
  • Document designs and outcomes thoroughly
  • Work independently and collaboratively to achieve objectives
  • Influence the technical direction of this and related projects
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to explore novel concepts

Required Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship
  • Eligibility for security clearance
  • Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Ability to articulate complex technical ideas clearly for diverse audiences
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Over 3 years of relevant professional experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of drivers, interrupt handling, and kernel subsystems

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active US Security Clearance
  • Experience in applying cybersecurity principles to operational technology and embedded systems
  • Background in reverse engineering hardware and software for functional modifications
  • Proficiency in multiple software design tools and languages, including C and Python
  • Experience in designing software systems across various platforms and processors
  • Familiarity with software testing methodologies, including the creation and execution of test plans, debugging, and scripting
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal; proficiency in English and local language is essential. Ability to effectively convey product architectures and design proposals to management.

Location:

  • This position is based at Idaho Scientific's headquarters. Interaction with physical hardware is a requirement.
  • Alternative work location arrangements may be considered for candidates with reliable access to secure facilities.
