As a Behavioral Support Technician, you will be instrumental in delivering Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. The clients you will assist will vary in age from 18 months to 13 years. Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute tailored ABA therapy programs under the guidance of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
  • Engage with clients and their families to build rapport, trust, and effective communication.
  • Employ behavior management strategies to address challenging behaviors and encourage positive behavior modifications.
  • Conduct one-on-one therapy sessions, adhering to established treatment plans and intervention techniques.
  • Gather and document data on client progress and behaviors during therapy sessions.
  • Collaborate with the BCBA and team members to review data and modify intervention strategies as necessary.
  • Support clients in enhancing their social, communication, and adaptive skills.
  • Utilize play-based activities and structured teaching methods to effectively engage and instruct clients.
  • Ensure a safe and nurturing therapeutic environment for clients while fostering a positive atmosphere.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions to improve your skills and stay informed on best practices in ABA therapy.
  • Comply with ethical standards and maintain confidentiality of client information at all times.
  • Assist in preparing progress reports and documentation for client assessments and evaluations.
  • Achieve RBT or Registered Behavior Technician Certification within six months of employment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree in psychology, education, or a related field is preferred.
  • Prior experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities and the capacity to foster positive relationships with clients, families, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a sincere desire to positively influence the lives of others.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to travel as needed.
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
  • Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
