North Mississippi Health Services is currently in search of a per diem / PRN Registered Nurse specializing in Home Health for a nursing position in the Tupelo area.

This role involves delivering high-quality nursing care within the home setting. Key responsibilities include:

  • Implementing top-tier standards and methodologies for patient care as per physician directives.
  • Conducting and documenting supervisory visits for Home Health Aides and LPNs in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Facilitating communication among all healthcare team members.
  • Assessing the effectiveness of the care provided to patients.
  • Accurately documenting patient care in a timely manner.
  • Educating patients and caregivers on disease management and skilled care within the home environment.
  • Performing clinical assessments during each visit, identifying issues, and taking appropriate actions.
  • Reporting patient conditions and responses to treatments, medications, and significant events to the physician.
  • Maintaining precise and current patient clinical records, tracking supply usage, and keeping accurate daily visit logs, including time and mileage.
Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program is required.
  • Current licensure by the Mississippi Board of Nursing is mandatory.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of full-time experience as a registered nurse is required, particularly in hospice care.
  • Current BLS CPR certification is essential.
  • Basic computer skills are preferred.
  • Knowledge of growth and development principles across the lifespan (neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics) is necessary, along with the ability to provide care as outlined in departmental policies and procedures.
