Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • Determine operational objectives by studying business functions, collecting and evaluating information, and assessing potential solutions.
  • Prepare basic journal entries and account reconciliations and submit to Accounting Manager for review.
  • Assist the Finance & Accounting team with transactional functions as necessary, including Accounts Payable voucher entry, employee expense reports, and billing.
  • Assist Senior Accountant in new employee setup and related data maintenance, including paid time off accruals, labor posting, etc.
  • Recommend controls by identifying problems and developing improved procedures.
  • Create and maintain job aides for various Finance & Accounting functions that can be used for training of future team members.
  • Maintain user confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Complete ad hoc/other requests as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or similar discipline from an accredited institution.
  • 1 year working experience in an accounting environment is preferred.
  • Experience in or work for the. military is highly desirable.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform repetitive motions with the hands, wrists, and fingers.
  • Ability to engage in and follow audible communications in emergency situations.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods at a desk and working on a computer.
