Job Summary:

The Speech Pathologist provides advanced patient care, including evaluations, goal setting, treatment planning, family training, and the application of treatment techniques in accordance with designated practice act and department policy and procedure.

Responsibilities include providing inpatient care as per physician's orders, supervising non-CCS paneled staff as requested, participating in case conferences and discharge planning meetings, and working with the program coordinator, case manager, and/or MTU/school representative to communicate and coordinate recommendations for ongoing therapy and equipment needs upon discharge.

Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Speech Pathology or Communicative Disorders required
  • Nine months of experience in a medical speech pathology or rehabilitation setting required
Key Qualifications:
  • Able to perform technical patient care activities and demonstrate understanding of the economics of rehabilitation
  • Cooperates with management and other associates in achieving organizational goals, clinical program, and mission
  • Integrates clinical and administrative feedback and direction
Licensures and Certifications:
  • Current Speech Pathology licensure required
  • American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) certification and Basic Life Support certification required
  • CCS-Paneled required if assigned to Pediatric Rehabilitation or fulfill CCS paneling requirements within twelve months from hire date
