Position Summary:
We are in search of a highly skilled and adaptable Multi-Skilled Technician with proficiency in both electrical and mechanical disciplines to join our materials recycling pre-processing plant team.

The successful candidate will be tasked with maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a diverse array of plant equipment to ensure peak performance and minimal operational interruptions.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to and promote all plant safety protocols.
  • Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on electrical and mechanical systems, including conveyors, motors, pumps, crushers, and other equipment.
  • Diagnose and rectify electrical issues, including wiring, control panels, and PLC systems.
  • Perform mechanical repairs, such as bearing replacements, belt adjustments, and hydraulic system maintenance.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and systems.
  • Implement upgrades and modifications to enhance plant efficiency and reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
  • Participate in safety training and contribute to the ongoing improvement of plant safety practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspection reports, and parts inventory.
  • Promptly report any equipment issues or safety concerns to the site manager.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Provide technical support and training to personnel as necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend warning labels, instructions, and signs.
  • Willingness to learn; training will be provided.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance with a strong background in both electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Experience in the cement and/or waste management industry is preferred.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Strong knowledge of PLC programming, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and control systems.
  • Hands-on experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, welding, and fabrication.

Work Environment:
The role involves working in both a shop environment and outdoor settings throughout the plant. Candidates should be prepared for mild exposure to cement dust, heat, cold, and noise, and must comply with specified safety guidelines and procedures. There may also be exposure to high elevations and varying weather conditions.
