We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated School Registered Nurse to join our team at Aveanna. As a School Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing direct school nursing services to promote prevention, medical management, and academics.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide school nursing services to direct service school districts
- Assess and evaluate the health and developmental status of students to make a nursing diagnosis and establish a priority for action
- Interpret the health and developmental status of students to school personnel, parents, and students as appropriate
- Serve as a health resource person in the health instruction curriculum and take leadership with faculties in planning and implementing health education programs
- Provide parent education related to student needs
- Participate in the development of Health Plans and attend school conferences when applicable
- Provide care, delegate, and teach care to others under the established plan of care while following the direction of a physician, nursing supervisor, school designee, and/or parent
- Attend appropriate continuing education programs as per licensure requirements and participate in Aveanna in-servicing and training as offered
- Exhibit behavior supporting and promoting students' rights and overall well-being
- Follow Aveanna and school board policies and procedures that affect the health, safety, and well-being of students in the school health setting
- Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate, or Baccalaureate School of Nursing
- Current, unrestricted state license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice
- Current CPR certification
- Current Basic Life Support certification
- Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation, and compliance with nursing care and policies and procedures
- Pediatrics experience preferred
- Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English
- Must be able to travel
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting
- Must be able to sit and climb stairs
- Must have visual and hearing acuity
- Must have strong sense of smell and touch
- Must be able to sufficiently reposition patients and move equipment without assistance
- Must be able to appropriately respond physically and mentally to emergency situations in the home or during transport
- Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions
- Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases
