About the DivisionThe Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Division is a dynamic team of 3 cardiac surgeons, 2 general thoracic surgeons, 16 mid-level physician assistants/nurse practitioners, and 4 transplant/VAD coordinators. The division performs over 600 cardiac cases, 25 heart transplants, and 300 general thoracic surgery operations per year.
Key Responsibilities- Clinically and administratively lead the division of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery
- Ensure high-quality outcomes and performance in all clinical programs and reporting data
- Build high-reliability teams for multidisciplinary care of patients with cardiovascular and cardiothoracic diseases
- Strategic planning and growth of the Division of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery
- Promote faculty/professional development of those in the division
We are seeking a candidate with:
- Experience in leadership, quality, and operations for a cardiovascular and thoracic service
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- High energy and enthusiasm balanced with a highly professional demeanor and strong executive presence
- Experience in facilitating and coordinating physician alignment activities
- Outstanding clinical experience with understanding of the clinical enterprise and patient care delivery process
- Knowledge of and experience developing quality infrastructure
- Working knowledge of information technology and medical informatics
