Clinical Pharmacist Faculty
Job Summary:The University of Illinois Chicago College of Pharmacy is seeking a Clinical Faculty Pharmacist to join our team in the Department of Pharmacy Practice. As a Clinical Faculty Pharmacist, you will provide prior authorization services for the Illinois Medicaid Fee-For-Service program, conduct thorough medication profile reviews, and interpret drug-related and laboratory information.
Responsibilities:- Provide prior authorization services for the Illinois Medicaid Fee-For-Service program.
- Conduct thorough medication profile reviews.
- Interpret drug-related and laboratory information.
- Determine appropriateness of drug therapy and provide necessary clinical interventions/recommendations to prescribers.
- Document communications with providers.
- Develop clinical criteria and policies.
- Provide academic detailing services for HFS.
- Conduct one-on-one academic detailing to Illinois prescribers, pharmacists, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Engage in outreach, recruitment, and promotional efforts to build collaborative relationships and obtain academic detailing visits.
- Write and/or review healthcare provider-directed educational and promotional materials, website content, and clinical treatment criteria and algorithms.
- Precept pharmacy students and residents on rotation.
- Special projects and other related duties as assigned.
- Graduate of an ACPE accredited pharmacy program with a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy, PharmD preferred.
- Must be licensed or eligible for Illinois licensure as a professional pharmacist prior to hire date.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in direct patient care setting.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with healthcare providers.
- Demonstrated decision making, team building, customer service, and conflict resolution.
- Must possess knowledge and skills such that they qualify for an academic faculty position as Clinical Instructor in Pharmacy Practice, College of Pharmacy.
