Construction Sales Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled Sales Engineer to join our team at Workbox Staffing. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build a career in the construction industry.
Job SummaryThe Sales Engineer will be responsible for identifying new sales opportunities within the construction industry, primarily focusing on the Industrial lightweight building applications market. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of sales experience and a strong understanding of construction systems, including roofing, building envelopes, rainscreen, insulation, and solar products.
The successful candidate will also have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be able to work effectively with OEMs, Distributors, Specifiers, and sub-component suppliers. Additionally, they should be familiar with virtual tools used to market, develop, communicate with, and train potential customers.
About the RoleThis role offers a competitive salary of $60,000 per year, plus commission. The successful candidate will work Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm, and will be responsible for building a book of business and bringing in new customers in the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities- Identifying new sales opportunities by researching and qualifying leads through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails.
- Traveling to customer sites to assist in service assessments, solution or service product development.
- Gaining competitive market analysis information and developing sales and marketing strategies for specific market sectors.
- Utilizing a local market approach to understand customers' fastening application needs and identifying sales opportunities.
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships up and down the decision chain, including end-user, specifier, and distributor.
- Preparing technical proposals, such as drawings, presentations, and case studies.
- Maintaining relationships with internal product managers to stay informed about current and future states of technology.
- Becoming familiar with the global team and applying best practices, benchmarking, or other tools to grow the USA market.
- Explaining and demonstrating features of products and services, both virtually and in a laboratory.
- Bachelor's degree in Sales, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of sales experience related to the construction industry, with early-career candidates having this requirement waived.
- Demonstrated ability and interest to learn technical knowledge as it applies to the construction industry and joining technologies.
- Familiarity with construction systems, including industrial lightweight building applications, roofing, building envelopes, rainscreen, insulation, and solar products.
- Experience working with OEMs, distributors, specifiers, and sub-component suppliers.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Familiarity with virtual tools used to market, develop, communicate with, and train potential customers.
The Sales Engineer will work in a dynamic environment, Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working remotely and will have a passion for building strong relationships with customers and colleagues.
