This position is responsible for obtaining diagnostic cardiac ultrasound images in three modes. M mode, color flow Doppler and two-dimensional mode, and will follow the imaging protocol recommended by IACEL. This position requires the individual to be registered by the ARDMS or CCI or an equivalent registry. This position will assist the physician with obtaining images during Transesophageal Echo's. This position shows sound knowledge and proficiency in the use of diagnostic echocardiography techniques (both fixed and mobile) to assist in the diagnosis of patient disorders. Prioritizes and organizes patient flow to ensure best utilization of time. Is given general guidance and is expected to function with initiative and sound judgment to provide quality services. Demonstrate effective safety practices. Establishes and maintains a good rapport and professional relationship with fellow employees, other departments and Medical Staff. Demonstrate competence when performing other related or licensed functions.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain diagnostic cardiac ultrasound images in three modes: M mode, color flow Doppler, and two-dimensional mode.
- Follow imaging protocol recommended by IACEL.
- Assist physician with obtaining images during Transesophageal Echo's.
- Use diagnostic echocardiography techniques to assist in the diagnosis of patient disorders.
- Prioritize and organize patient flow to ensure best utilization of time.
- Demonstrate effective safety practices.
- Establish and maintain good rapport and professional relationship with fellow employees, other departments, and Medical Staff.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date.
- Graduate of an approved/accredited School of Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography or completion of Cardiac credentialing International program.
