Job SummaryThe Radiologic Technologist will work in ambulatory or acute care environments, performing and interpreting radiology exams under the direction of a radiologist.
The ideal candidate will be able to independently acquire the proper exam for the radiologist's interpretation, operate all radiological equipment, and work with patients in various age groups, adjusting technique and positions for optimal examinations.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients and equipment for procedures, educating them on exam prep instructions and obtaining correct orders and paperwork for records.
- Enter exams into the Radiology Information System, schedule radiology exams, and communicate with medical staff as requested.
- Perform fluoroscopy examinations in the department and use the c-arm in the operating room setting, as well as portable exams throughout the facility.
- Document patient information accurately and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Participate in the upkeep of the department, including preventive maintenance, stocking of supplies, and reporting equipment malfunctions.
- High School Diploma/GED Equivalent: General Studies
- Graduate - Radiology Program Certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA); Radiologic Technologist (RT) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- 3+ years of Radiologic Technologist experience
- Fluoroscopy experience preferred, willing to train
- Other modalities certifications preferred, willing to train
