About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to join our team at Providence Alaska Medical Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for acting within the nurse-patient, nurse-nurse, and nurse-system spheres, facilitating a multi-disciplinary and collaborative approach in the provision of health care, within a specialty area.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Acts as a clinical resource, providing expertise and guidance to nursing staff
  • Facilitates patient care consultation and provides resources to assess the impact of appropriate practice on patient outcomes
  • Develops and implements clinical standards of practice and competency standards for staff members
Requirements
  • Masters Degree from a clinical nurse specialist program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC)
  • Alaska Registered Nurse License upon hire
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire
  • Current certification as CNS, with certification in area of specialty preferred
  • 3 years of Registered nursing experience in area of specialty
