About the Role

We are seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at Providence Alaska Medical Center. As a CNS, you will be responsible for promoting excellence in patient care through clinical standards of practice and competency standards for staff members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act within the nurse-patient, nurse-nurse, and nurse-system spheres using the Synergy Model.
  • Facilitate a multi-disciplinary and collaborative approach in healthcare provision.
  • Implement clinical standards of practice and establish competency standards for staff members.
  • Demonstrate expertise and function as a clinical resource.
  • Conduct and facilitate patient care consultations.
Required Qualifications
  • Master's Degree from a clinical nurse specialist program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC).
  • Alaska Registered Nurse License upon hire.
  • National Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association certification.
  • Current certification as CNS, with preference given to certification in the area of specialty.
  • Three years of registered nursing experience in the specialty area.
