Job Overview

Position Summary

The Casino Audit Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of gaming operations by meticulously reviewing casino activities and documentation to guarantee precise revenue reporting and adherence to regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough audits of jackpot tickets and associated documentation to verify accurate recording and tax compliance. Identify and document any discrepancies related to internal controls and state regulations.
  • Perform daily audits of slot meter readings.
  • Examine and audit data from slot machines within the accounting system.
  • Review and reconcile all daily data and documentation from the sportsbook.
  • Audit daily paperwork and generate reconciliations. Investigate, reconcile, and address variances for NRT Machines.
  • Audit fills, credits, and markers for Table Games, documenting any instances of non-compliance with internal controls and state regulations.
  • Compile the Master Game Report following the audit of all table games documentation.
  • Review cage paperwork and related documents, noting any non-compliance with internal controls and state regulations.
  • Record and monitor Slot and Table Games meter readings.
  • Timely document daily audit totals.
  • Produce daily, weekly, and month-end reports. Address management inquiries regarding standard departmental reports.
  • Organize and file all documents and reports systematically, ensuring all necessary documentation is correctly stored.
  • Carry out assigned tasks as required.

Essential Functions

  • Work in a casino environment with exposure to factors such as secondhand smoke, high noise levels, and fast-paced kitchen settings.
  • Manage stressful situations while serving clients in a dynamic and high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to stand, sit, bend, and twist throughout the entire shift, moving efficiently within casino and hotel areas.
  • Work operationally seven days a week with rotating days off, including holidays, weekends, and flexible shifts.
  • Capable of lifting items up to 25 lbs.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in accounting or equivalent experience in casino accounting.
  • Minimum one year of accounting experience; six months of practical bookkeeping and/or auditing experience is preferred.
  • Proficient in Excel and other relevant software applications, with a willingness to learn necessary job skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills in English (reading, writing, speaking, and understanding).
