If so, Mullins Mechanical & Welding is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee our construction projects. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the successful execution of various projects, with your work location determined by project assignments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate onsite construction activities as part of a cohesive team.
  • Oversee daily operations of assigned projects, ensuring efficient workflow.
  • Manage field responsibilities for medium to complex projects or multiple smaller teams.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager to develop and maintain project schedules.
  • Conduct jobsite orientations and training for new hires, assigning tasks as necessary.
  • Perform annual employee evaluations for direct reports, or more frequently as needed.
  • Collaborate with the estimating team to provide technical guidance during project bidding.
  • Ensure adherence to high-quality control standards and report any deficiencies promptly.
  • Assist the Project Manager with purchasing and project consumables.
  • Review and analyze preliminary project documents and participate in hand-off meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures on a daily basis, including:
    • Enforcing site-specific safety plans.
    • Conducting weekly safety meetings and maintaining attendance records.
    • Completing Mullins Safety Analyses as required.
    • Documenting incidents with detailed reports on the same day.
  • Prepare two-week look-ahead schedules in collaboration with the Project Manager.
  • Communicate project delays and their impacts to the Project Manager and relevant parties.
  • Manage logistics and deliveries for the project.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and the general contractor to ensure proper staging and laydown areas.
  • Submit material requisitions in advance and maintain adequate supplies on-site.
  • Oversee the management of tools and equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and usage.
  • Utilize technology to track project information and updates effectively.
  • Timely update and submit necessary reports and logs, including:
    • Daily Field Logs
    • Tool Maintenance Logs
    • Time Sheets
    • Inspection Reports
  • Assist the Project Manager with job cost updates and monthly billing processes.
  • Organize and lead weekly project meetings with foremen and subcontractors.
  • Monitor the performance of foremen and subcontractors to ensure accountability.
  • Participate in close-out meetings to capture lessons learned.
  • Maintain a clean and organized jobsite.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a construction superintendent or in a similar leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of safety, quality, and health regulations in construction.
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction operations and processes.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Effective communication abilities.
  • Capability to lead and motivate teams.
  • OSHA 30 certification is preferred.
