Job Title: Regional Eye Center Service Line Director

Confluence Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Eye Center Service Line Director to lead the operations of our Ophthalmology, Optometry, and Optical Shops. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the vision and strategy of the Regional Eye Center service line, ensuring excellence in all aspects of patient care, resource management, and fiscal management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish strong partnerships with physicians, APCs, and other team members to drive collaboration and achieve service line goals.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the service line, aligning with Confluence Health's mission and strategies, and working collaboratively with Marketing and Business Development.
  • Provide leadership in the development and enhancement of comprehensive eye care services across the continuum of care, including facilitating change and creating action plans to meet or exceed targets.
  • Take ownership of profit and loss responsibility for the service line, including revenue, expenses, and budgeting, and develop action plans to meet financial goals.
  • Collaborate with the SL Physician Manager and departmental managers to define and/or realign variances, and work together to achieve service line goals.
  • Develop and implement service line budgets, and collaborate with Materials Management to negotiate effective contracts and follow-through with vendors for supplies and services.
  • Represent the services to the community, ensuring the provision of innovative community-based education and services.
  • Direct the operation of Regional Eye Center Services throughout the organization, including service to satellite campuses, and travel to satellite clinics on a regular basis for rounds and oversight of operations.
  • Participate and support the preparation and planning of physician and APC recruitment for the service line, in partnership with our Recruiting team.
  • Conduct Practice Manager (PM) performance reviews for direct reports, and provide input for indirect reports and make recommendations for wage rate adjustments annually.
  • Provide support and coaching for direct reports, and assist with development plans for staff as needed, and mentor new leaders.
  • Problem solve and address issues raised by physicians, employees, and patients, and liaison with SLD colleagues for continuity of care issues across service lines.
  • Ensure policies, procedures, and standards are in compliance with regulatory and accrediting bodies, and responsible for successful inspections, plans of correction if needed.
  • Monitor patient feedback and contribute to the process of resolving patient complaints and service issues, and support manager dyads in creating effective action plans for improvement.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field with six years relevant leadership experience, including 3 years' experience as a manager.
  • Proficiency within the Microsoft Office suite of software required.

Desired:

  • Master's degree.
  • Lean Certification/trained.
  • Previous Optometry, Ophthalmology, or Optical experience.
  • Proficiency with Epic EHR.
