About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Veterinary Medical Director to lead our team at Direct Jobs. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing medical leadership, overseeing the veterinary team, and ensuring the highest standard of medicine and patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medical leadership and direction to the veterinary team
  • Oversee the development and implementation of medical protocols and procedures
  • Mentor and coach veterinary staff to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to provide exceptional patient care
  • Collaborate with the practice manager to ensure the financial and operational success of the practice
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient care and outcomes
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest medical research and advancements in veterinary medicine
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in veterinary medicine
  • A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university, plus active NY license
  • A commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics
  • The ability to delegate responsibility and achieve results with hospital team members
  • Capable of quality decision making
  • The ability to coach, correct, develop, and motivate employees
  • Demonstrates excellent time and task management
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation with staff and clients
