Outpatient Mental Health Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Outpatient Psychiatrist to join our team at The National Coalition of Healthcare Recruiters. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary clinic team, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric care to a diverse patient population with mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide professional leadership to other physicians, residents, medical students, and support staff to enhance their professional and patient care skills in providing mental health care.
- Ensure that mental health patients receive quality, timely, professional care services in accordance with our organization's mission and values.
- Examine patients with mental health issues to obtain medical history, assess, analyze, evaluate, diagnose, and treat them; order laboratory and other diagnostic tests and evaluate patient data and test findings to diagnose the nature and extent of mental disorder and physical condition.
- Assess and treat patients with mental illnesses through a combination of psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, hospitalization, and medication; design individualized treatment plans; evaluate results of treatment and adjust treatments as appropriate.
- Prescribe, direct, and administer psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders.
- Counsel patients on diet, hygiene, and preventive health care.
- Collaborate with other physicians, nurses, psychologists, social workers, and other professionals to discuss treatment plans and progress.
- Proactively assist the patient and family through all facets of accessing care at our clinic and elsewhere, serving as a resource to resolve patient and family concerns.
- Confers with student and resident physicians and other professional and support staff regarding care and treatment of mental health patients and assists/mentors them in the management of mental illness.
Academic Affiliation: The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage in academic affiliation with UCLA Medical School and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
