Patient Account Representative

At SCA Health, we are seeking a highly skilled Patient Account Representative to join our team. As a Patient Account Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely patient account follow-up, resolving credit balances, and maximizing facility reimbursement.
Key Responsibilities:- Thoroughly follow up with insurance companies to ensure accurate accounts receivable reporting.
- Responsible for daily generation of patient statements and timely follow-up with patients to resolve balances.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, answering calls and correspondence in a professional and timely manner.
- Work closely with payer provider relations representatives to resolve denials and collect payments.
- Utilize knowledge of medical billing, payer contracts, and appeals to resolve complex reimbursement issues.
- Meet and maintain cash collection metrics and goals, ensuring maximum facility reimbursement.
- Associate's Degree or equivalent from a two-year College or technical school.
- Two years' experience in a medical office as a patient account representative.
- Knowledge of medical billing, payer follow-up, payer contracts, appeals, self-pay billing, Medicare and Medicaid billing, AR posting, and excellent customer service skills.
- Experience in a hospital, outpatient surgery center, or related field is a plus.
