Patient Service Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team at Saint Alphonsus Health System. As a Patient Service Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic, providing exceptional customer service to patients, and supporting the clinical staff in their daily activities.
Key Responsibilities- Register patients for appointments and complete necessary paperwork
- Verify and update patient and insurance information
- Collect and record patient payments and balances
- Assist patients with financial assistance paperwork and payment plans
- Maintain a neat and organized work area, including the reception area
- Optimize patient satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments effectively
- Handle multiple telephone lines and interact with patients via the patient portal
- Scan incoming patient-related documents into the electronic health record
- Process incoming and outgoing referral requests and file medical reports and correspondence
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous customer service experience required, with healthcare experience preferred
- Electronic health record (EHR) experience a plus
- Medical terminology preferred
