About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team at Saint Alphonsus Health System. As a Patient Service Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic, providing exceptional customer service to patients, and supporting the clinical staff in their daily activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Register patients for appointments and complete necessary paperwork
  • Verify and update patient and insurance information
  • Collect and record patient payments and balances
  • Assist patients with financial assistance paperwork and payment plans
  • Maintain a neat and organized work area, including the reception area
  • Optimize patient satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments effectively
  • Handle multiple telephone lines and interact with patients via the patient portal
  • Scan incoming patient-related documents into the electronic health record
  • Process incoming and outgoing referral requests and file medical reports and correspondence
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous customer service experience required, with healthcare experience preferred
  • Electronic health record (EHR) experience a plus
  • Medical terminology preferred
