As a Lead Software Compliance Analyst, you will be pivotal in ensuring that our software licensing agreements are adhered to, along with compliance policies and regulatory standards.

In this position, you will collaborate with multiple departments to oversee, monitor, and manage software licenses throughout the organization.

Your role will be essential in maintaining compliance, minimizing risks, and enhancing software utilization, while also contributing to initiatives aimed at cost reduction.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement controls, processes, and procedures for effective software asset management across the enterprise.
  • Monitor software utilization and licensing to ensure adherence to agreements and relevant regulations.
  • Identify and evaluate risks associated with software licensing non-compliance; devise strategies to mitigate these risks and ensure alignment with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Gather, analyze, and report on software license usage for forecasting, budgeting, compliance, and cost optimization.
  • Plan and conduct regular software license audits to verify compliance and identify potential gaps or discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with system lifecycle managers and budget stakeholders to understand current software licensing needs and assist in future planning.
  • Work cross-functionally with various departments to assess and optimize enterprise software license requirements and deployments.
  • Analyze software usage to identify potential efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Validate invoices related to software licenses.
  • Participate in fulfilling licensing requests through the centralized catalog and provisioning via software portals.
  • Establish and maintain a process to track software end-of-support and end-of-life events, collaborating with system lifecycle managers for planning.
  • Assist in developing a process for assessing software for organizational fit and suitability.
  • Work with various departments to establish controls around software installation and develop adherence processes.
  • Focus on cost-saving initiatives, including licensing remediation, license harvesting, and reducing software duplication.
  • Collaborate with CIO Services teams to enhance software asset management tools and systems for improved license tracking and monitoring.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 6 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination.
  • Understanding of software usage rights and contractual terms.
  • Knowledge of IT asset management best practices, including license remediation and reconciliation.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow, SharePoint, and Costpoint.
  • Experience with ServiceNow catalog development and SAMPro software license management.
  • Proficient in process development and improvement.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  • Understanding of IT software contract models, including hosting, subscription, SaaS, and enterprise agreements.
  • Knowledge of the relationship between contracts, IT assets, and the Configuration Management Database.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ServiceNow SAMPro certification.
  • Experience in developing, managing, and implementing complex goals and processes.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with automated asset management systems.
  • IAITAM Asset Management certification.
  • Proven ability to work effectively under pressure with tight deadlines.
