The Staff Radiation Therapist plays a vital role in the Department of Radiation Oncology of the Medical Center. The primary responsibility is to perform radiation therapy and imaging procedures involving the application of X-rays and radioactive substances to patients for simulation and treatment for malignancies and pain.

Position Summary

The Staff Radiation Therapist performs radiation therapy and imaging procedures, assisting in treatment planning and maintaining prescribed standards set forth by the Radiation Oncologist. The Staff Radiation Therapist reinforces advice and monitors patients for unusual reactions and events, observes radiation safety measures for patients and staff, and assists in student teaching, oversight, and supervision.

Minimum Qualifications

For Hire: 2-Year College Degree or equivalent education/experience. Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiation Therapy Technology. Licensed by the State of Ohio through the Ohio Department of Health in Radiation Therapy. 2+ years of Radiation Therapy experience.

Ongoing: Meets mandatory education and health surveillance requirements. Demonstrates competence in technical, interpersonal, and cognitive skills required to meet essential job functions. Maintains registration and licensure through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and Ohio Department of Health.
