Radiation Therapist Job Summary

Tennessee Oncology is seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our radiation oncology treatment team. As a Radiation Therapist, you will work closely with the physics and dosimetry departments to deliver highly accurate doses of radiation to patients as prescribed by the radiation oncologist.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in radiation therapy and excellent communication skills. You will be responsible for performing radiation therapy treatments, treatment simulations, and daily warm-up and performance checks of simulation and treatment delivery equipment.

Essential Functions:
  • Perform radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by the radiation oncologist.
  • Perform treatment simulations as indicated by the radiation oncologist.
  • Daily warm-up and performance checks of simulation and treatment delivery equipment.
  • Schedule patient treatments.
  • Fabricate treatment devices for patient immobilization and beam shaping in accordance with patient treatment plans.
  • Regularly perform new start/ weekly/ adaptive plan chart checks in accordance with ACRO chart check standards.
  • Accurately document the patient treatment process.
  • Accurately register patient films for physician review.
  • Participate in the quality/process improvement process.
  • Interact in an open, cooperative manner as a team member with all co-workers to create a positive work climate and promote high-level professionalism in delivering patient care.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Graduate of a JCERT accredited Radiation Therapy program.
  • Registered, or registry eligible, radiation therapist licensure granted by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT). (Successful completion of registry exam within 6 months of hire date.)
  • ARRT licensure must be up to date and in good standing.
  • BLS for Healthcare certified.
