Pay Rate: Probation rate $35.04 after 60 days $35.54.

OT: Overtime available

The Mechanical Maintenance Specialist is responsible for the construction, installation, upkeep, and repair of various mechanical, structural, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems in accordance with established codes and safety protocols. This role requires independent decision-making based on expertise while performing job functions without direct oversight. The specialist will exhibit proficiency in power transmission, air systems, piping, hydraulics, pumps, troubleshooting components, welding, alignment procedures, rigging, millwright tasks, motor controls, and electrical theory.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist the Maintenance Leader, Planner/Scheduler, and shift leaders with assigned tasks.Execute scheduled preventive maintenance tasks.Communicate equipment issues to leadership promptly.Conduct repairs and projects safely and efficiently, adhering to all safety protocols.Respond to line calls swiftly, equipped with necessary tools for safe and effective work.Provide assistance during process disruptions as required.Utilize all required safety equipment and comply with plant safety regulations, including machinery lockout procedures.Adhere to scheduled tasks unless authorized to make adjustments.Ensure immediate cleanup post-job completion and maintain a high standard of workplace cleanliness.Participate in training sessions and seminars to enhance skills across various crafts, including mechanical, electrical, PLC, machining, and welding.Maintain organization and cleanliness in parts and tool rooms.Collaborate effectively with team members.Report any accidents, near misses, or injuries to supervisors immediately, regardless of perceived severity.Operate machinery only when properly trained or under the guidance of a qualified employee.Consistently wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Make informed decisions while executing all job functions.Complete tasks as directed by Scheduler Planner, Maintenance Leader, and Production Leaders.Act as a Team Leader, guiding fellow craftsmen to meet equipment and plant requirements.Support shift work assignments and follow up with Scheduler Planner or Maintenance Supervisor to ensure compliance.Assist with security in storerooms by ensuring all doors are secured at the start and end of shifts.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Demonstrated skills in machining and/or electrical disciplines.Performance and attendance records will be evaluated.Proficient in written and spoken English.Able to work second or third shifts as scheduled.Willingness to attend mandatory training sessions during personal time to remain updated on equipment changes.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent.Preferred two (2) years of experience in mechanical roles within an industrial or manufacturing setting.
