Job Summary

The Director of Operations will oversee Amp's portfolio of operating RNG production facilities, ensuring safe and efficient operations. This role requires strong leadership and collaboration skills, with a focus on staffing, training, and retaining a team of experienced operators and technicians. The successful candidate will work closely with various teams, including EHS, asset management, engineering, project delivery, finance, and regulatory compliance, to drive operational excellence and achieve business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement annual operating plans, manage major maintenance, and execute capital improvement projects
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and assist in the evaluation of potential projects
  • Inform financial and business modeling, including cost-to-serve and risk analysis
  • Build relationships with vendors, partners, and stakeholders
  • Professionalize and expand the team and tools
  • Supervise the hiring, training, development, and retention of a rapidly growing team of experienced operators and technicians
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Forecast and manage operating costs
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of performance reporting to executives
  • Maintain critical field instruments and devices for data collection and storage
  • Drive creative problem-solving to address operational issues and opportunities
  • Maintain 100% compliance with safety practices, operating permits, and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Optimize spares inventory
  • Manage outside vendors and contractors
  • Support the ongoing refinement of Amp's field safety programs
  • Ensure consistent execution of safe work practices
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Help automate performance monitoring and reporting
  • Identify and leverage best practices from competitors and other industry verticals
  • Establish a culture of continuous improvement
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical, or similar) or Construction (preferred)
  • 15+ years of experience in field service management in Oil & Gas, Renewable Gas, or other process-related industry
  • Experience with relevant process equipment, components, and SCADA systems
  • Willingness to travel 50% or more of the time to remote locations
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with basic computer software like MS Office
  • Passion for and track record of solving complex problems and delivering results
