Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect blood samples from patients in nursing homes and other healthcare facilities, following established phlebotomy procedures and protocols.
  • Accurately identify patients and ensure proper labeling and handling of specimens.
  • Transport specimens to the laboratory for processing, adhering to phlebotomy policy on transporting PHI.
  • Plan and organize draw schedules, maintaining accurate records and logs.
  • Collaborate with dispatch, payroll, laboratory, and courier departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Maintain equipment in good working order and report any issues to the Area Phlebotomy Supervisor.
  • Respond promptly to company-issued mobile devices and be available to work as scheduled.
Requirements
  • Current clinical licensure, if required by state or local regulations.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and phlebotomy procedures, including venipuncture and decontamination techniques.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Good driving record and ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with clients, patients, and staff members.
