Role Summary: The Medical Imaging Specialist performs routine radiographic examinations in accordance with Concentra's policies and applicable regulations under the direct supervision of the attending clinician. This position demands efficient and precise patient care delivery while thriving in a dynamic environment. The Medical Imaging Specialist ensures that every patient receives high-quality clinical care and enjoys an exceptional experience from our welcoming and skilled team.
Key Responsibilities:
Radiologic Duties:
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures, escorting them to appropriate areas, providing instructions, and assisting with positioning for optimal imaging.
- Operate imaging equipment to capture diagnostic images, adjusting settings as necessary to meet examination specifications.
- Implement radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
- Maintain imaging equipment functionality, reporting any malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
- Ensure compliance with radiology workflows and accurate documentation in electronic medical records.
- Conduct quality assurance activities on imaging equipment and maintain records in line with current policies.
Medical Support Duties:
- Conduct drug and alcohol testing as required.
- Prepare patients for physical assessments, including vital signs and ancillary testing.
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations and treatments.
- Perform routine medical procedures as directed by the attending clinician.
- Manage patient flow and keep patients informed about wait times.
- Handle clerical tasks related to patient care and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program with relevant state certification.
- Registered with The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with active certification.
- CPR/First Aid Certification.
Experience:
- Minimum of six months of experience in a medical assistant role, with knowledge of medical procedures and terminology.
- Preferred experience in occupational medicine and customer service.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to interact professionally with patients and colleagues.
- Effective problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and data entry.
