Job Summary

Diagnostic Imaging Northwest is seeking a skilled Ultrasonographer to join our team in Puyallup. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound exams in accordance with ARDMS standards and ethics.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for ultrasound exams, explaining procedures and providing clear instructions.
  • Obtain thorough patient histories and review charts to determine optimal scanning parameters.
  • Implement orders from referring physicians and perform examinations of the abdomen, pelvis, OB, small parts, and vascular structures with accuracy.
  • Present ultrasound examinations to radiologists in a professional and precise manner.
  • Assist patients to scanning tables, position equipment, and utilize appropriate ultrasound devices and frequencies.
  • Follow scan protocols and document technical quality, ensuring proper identification and recording of images.
  • Prepare informed consent for interventional procedures and assist radiologists as needed.
  • Practice aseptic techniques and maintain high standards of patient care.
  • Complete documentation, paperwork, and imaging necessary to maintain patient files.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited diagnostic ultrasound program.
  • ARDMS registry eligibility or abdominal and OB/GYN registries preferred.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Ability to perform a variety of examinations, including OB, small parts, and vascular structures.
  • Strong understanding of human anatomy, physics, physiology, pathology, pharmacology, and medical terminology.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and maintain confidentiality.
Working Conditions

Work environment consists of normal office or administrative working conditions. May be exposed to communicable diseases and limited exposure to ionizing radiation.
