Overview

Darling Ingredients Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Wastewater Treatment Specialist to join our team.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year

Job Summary: As a Wastewater Treatment Specialist, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining the wastewater treatment processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain the evaporator, skimmer, and other equipment to ensure efficient wastewater treatment.
  • Monitor and control chemical inventories and additions throughout the treatment process.
  • Perform regular tests and maintenance on the DAF, aerators, mixers, and disinfection system.
  • Ensure proper operation of scrubbers, ancillary equipment, and cooling towers.
  • Apply chemicals to sustain a minimum of a 24-hour period.
  • Dump grease solids using a forklift.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 1-year prior experience in a rendering facility or production environment.
  • Willingness to obtain a wastewater certificate.

Physical Demands:

  • Frequent lifting up to 10 lbs.
  • Frequent walking, standing, stooping, bending, climbing, pulling, pushing, and crawling.

Work Environment:

Outside in all types of weather. Hot and humid in the plant. In and around moving parts and equipment.
