Job Title: Controls Engineer III

ControlTouch Systems, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Controls Engineer III to lead all phases of controls projects, from concept and research to installation and debug. The ideal candidate will have expert-level knowledge of controls engineering practices, theories, and PLC programming.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead controls projects, including concept and research, estimating support, component selection, network design, panel design, layout, device troubleshooting, PLC and HMI programming, on-site installation and debug, and after-sales support.
  • Develop and implement controls systems for airports, ensuring safe, accurate, and efficient baggage handling.
  • Collaborate with the Engineering Manager to provide insight on the latest advancements in controls engineering and implement new standards for the company.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to less experienced controls engineers and serve as a subject matter expert.
  • Attend training in the latest controls technology and share knowledge with the team.
Requirements:
  • Proficient in several programming languages and control device networks for PLCs.
  • Ability to read and understand written specifications, contract drawings, and develop a complete design that meets requirements.
  • Expert understanding of AC/DC control systems, use of computer software for design engineering and PLC programming, and ability to troubleshoot systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel to customer facilities as needed and work non-business hours based on project and customer needs.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably EE, EET, or CECS, or equivalent work experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in the field or related area, with expertise in PLC programming, debugging, and commissioning, as well as plan/hardware design, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
