Position Overview:
The primary responsibility of the Dining Services Associate is to oversee the operations of the kitchen and prepare meals in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as our established policies and procedures, and as directed by the Manager. As a member of the culinary team, you will be entrusted with the authority and accountability necessary to fulfill your assigned tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Embrace and exemplify the Mission, Vision, Values, and Guiding Behaviors of Trinity Health and Trinity Senior Living Communities in all interactions. Consistently demonstrate Sanctuary Values to all customers, including residents, visitors, and colleagues. Foster a warm and inviting atmosphere throughout the community. Collaborate effectively with various departments to ensure seamless service delivery. Prepare meals according to established menus and review them prior to food preparation. Complete necessary administrative tasks, including forms and reports, and submit them to the Manager. Maintain and organize menus in accordance with established protocols. Assist in timely meal service as needed. Adhere to all safety and sanitation standards at all times. Support daily cleaning tasks as per established guidelines. Ensure the kitchen is kept clean and safe, reporting any hazardous conditions to the Dining Services Manager immediately. Anticipate the needs of residents and families, consistently striving to provide a comfortable and welcoming environment. Uphold resident rights, ensuring confidentiality and respect for personal property. Participate in required training and educational sessions as needed.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in food preparation and handling, particularly in assisted living or with the elderly population, is preferred. ServSafe Certification is a plus or must be obtained within six months of hire. Strong customer service skills and professionalism are essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team setting and with residents of varying cognitive abilities. Self-motivated with a high level of productivity and accountability. Basic computer skills are necessary.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
Must be able to adapt to frequently changing work conditions. Ability to see, hear, and smell, or use prosthetics that enable these senses to function adequately. The role involves frequent kneeling, crouching, reaching, sitting, walking, bending, and lifting. Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds and push or pull such weight a minimum distance of 10 feet.
