The Security Systems Technician will oversee all facets of access control and IP camera systems at client locations. This role requires the ability to independently install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain electronic devices, power supplies, and network components. Effective communication with the Field Supervisor and a professional demeanor when interacting with clients are essential.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be diligent, detail-oriented, and organized, capable of working autonomously to uphold the security hardware standards for both the client and Unlimited Technology.

  • Install and maintain Access Control and IP camera systems in accordance with engineered specifications.
  • Demonstrate programming proficiency related to the UTI product range.
  • Program, terminate, and commission various Access Control products and platforms.
  • Identify and resolve issues that may hinder job efficiency.
  • Complete all necessary documentation related to job assignments thoroughly.
  • Ensure a safe and tidy working environment at all times.
  • Communicate all project activities to the Project Manager or Field Supervisor promptly.
  • Assist Level I technicians as needed.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and condition of any company vehicle provided.
  • Exhibit a safe driving record and report any incidents to management immediately.
  • Participate in required product or safety training sessions.

Qualifications & Skills

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Comprehensive understanding of all responsibilities associated with the Service Technician role.
  • 3-5 years of field installation experience in the security sector.
  • Certifications in Lenel/Software House access control are preferred.
  • Familiarity with American Dynamics, Genetec, and Exacq systems is advantageous.
  • Experience in installing door hardware, including strikes and magnetic locks.
  • Knowledge of DMP, Bosch, DSC, or Honeywell Intrusion systems.
  • Experience troubleshooting network switches.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings effectively.
  • Proficient in using computers, with skills in MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic and a team-oriented mindset; a proactive attitude towards service excellence.
  • Ability to perform under pressure with minimal supervision; must be a self-starter and quick learner.
