Position: Wound Care Registered Nurse
Part-Time Position: 24 hours per week
Shifts: 7 AM - 3 PM
Key Responsibilities:
As a Wound Care Registered Nurse, you will play a crucial role in evaluating, treating, and overseeing wound conditions in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Your planning and interventions will not only enhance wound healing but also improve the comfort and quality of life for our residents. You will serve as a practitioner, resource, consultant, educator, and facilitator, striving to elevate the standard of care for individuals with intricate wound care requirements.
- Oversee and provide expertise in the wound care and prevention program for residents and staff.
- Conduct thorough wound assessments and create tailored care plans for patients with skin complications.
- Administer direct wound care treatments, including dressing changes, debridement, and irrigation.
- Review and update wound care policies and procedures to ensure best practices.
- Monitor the progress of wound healing and assess the effectiveness of treatment strategies.
- Educate residents, families, and staff on wound care protocols and prevention methods.
- Collaborate with physicians, wound care specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Maintain precise documentation of wound assessments, interventions, and outcomes for compliance and reimbursement purposes.

Qualifications:
To be considered for the Wound Care Nurse position, candidates should possess:
- A valid state RN nursing license.
- A degree in nursing, epidemiology, biology, or microbiology is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in wound care management, ideally in a long-term care environment.
- Familiarity with evidence-based wound care and cleansing products.
- Certification as a Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) is preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment, organizational, and critical thinking skills.
- Compassion and empathy in caring for residents with complex wound care needs.
- An interest in the nursing needs of the elderly and chronically ill populations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
