Position: Wound Care Registered Nurse

Part-Time Role: 24 hours per week

Shift: 7 AM - 3 PM

Key Responsibilities:

As the Wound Care Registered Nurse, you will assess, treat, and monitor wound conditions while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team. Your expertise in care planning and interventions will facilitate wound healing and enhance the comfort and quality of life for our residents. You will serve as a practitioner, resource, consultant, educator, and facilitator, elevating the overall quality of care for individuals with complex wound care needs.

  • Oversee and provide expertise in the wound care and prevention program for residents and staff.
  • Conduct thorough wound assessments and create personalized care plans for patients with skin complications.
  • Administer direct wound care interventions, including dressing changes, debridement, and irrigation.
  • Review and update wound care and prevention policies and procedures.
  • Monitor the progress of wound healing and assess the effectiveness of treatment methods.
  • Educate residents, families, and staff on wound care protocols and prevention techniques.
  • Collaborate with physicians, wound care specialists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
  • Maintain precise documentation of wound assessments, interventions, and outcomes for regulatory compliance and reimbursement purposes.

Qualifications:

To be considered for the Wound Care Registered Nurse position, candidates should possess:
  • A valid state RN nursing license.
  • A degree in nursing, epidemiology, biology, or microbiology is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in wound care management, ideally in a Long-Term Care setting.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based wound care and cleansing products.
  • Certification as a Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) is preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment, organizational, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Compassion and empathy for residents with complex wound care needs.
  • An interest in the nursing needs of the elderly and chronically ill.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
