Job Title: Early Childhood Center Teacher

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Center Teacher to join our team at The Learning Center for the Deaf. As a key member of our educational staff, you will play a vital role in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment for our students.

Job Summary:

The Early Childhood Center Teacher will be responsible for designing and implementing engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of our students. You will work closely with colleagues to develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that aligns with the Reggio-Emilia philosophy and Massachusetts state standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that promote student learning and engagement
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning environment
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of student progress
  • Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and stay up-to-date with best practices
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement behavior plans and support students with special needs
Requirements:
  • Massachusetts State Teacher Certification in Early Childhood Education, Deaf Education, or Special Education
  • Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Deaf Education, or Special Education
  • Conversational fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) required, with native or near-native fluency preferred
  • Written language competency
  • Experience working with young children
  • Familiarity with the Reggio-Emilia philosophy
  • Ability to work effectively as part of an educational team
