Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Building Engineer to join our team at C&W Services. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our commercial properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision: Supervise a team of engineers and maintenance staff, including hiring, training, and personnel development.
  • Performance Management: Ensure performance management, coaching, and development of team members through established HR processes and disciplinary actions.
  • Safety and Compliance: Participate in the annual scheduling and execution of the C&W Safety Program, ensuring 100% compliance at your site.
  • Financial Management: Manage operational accounts for the building, including variance reporting, and assist in the development of operating and capital budgets.
  • Utility Management: Track utility use, consumption, cost, and reporting, as well as assist in the development of budgeting and variance models.
  • Building Systems Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections of building systems and equipment, identify and resolve issues, and assist in maintenance and engineering tasks as required.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Develop, implement, and maintain an effective preventive and predictive maintenance program, including procedures for annual, semi-annual, quarterly, monthly, and other scheduled maintenance.
  • Documentation and Training: Develop and maintain effective building-specific maintenance and safety procedure manuals, and coordinate the development of an Operations Document Library.
  • Communication and Coordination: Maintain ongoing communication with tenants, clients, property management, and vendors, and coordinate maintenance efforts with outside contractors and tenant finish personnel.
  • Emergency Response: Respond quickly to emergency situations, such as fires, evacuations, and equipment failures, and customer concerns.
  • Inventory Control: Implement and administer inventory control programs, purchase parts and supplies, and ensure compliance with applicable codes, requisitions, government agency, and company directives.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Experience: 5+ years of related work experience in a commercial property setting or any similar combination of education or experience.
  • Eligibility Qualifications: Vocational/Technical training certificate, appropriate license/permit for trade, Universal Technician for CFC's, and basic computing skills in Outlook, Excel, and Word.
