Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Production Supervisor to join our team at Gruma Corporation. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for directing, planning, controlling, and monitoring the overall operation of the production department lines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and supervise a team of up to 35 employees to ensure the efficient production of high-quality products.
  • Ensure that all processing activities are in conformance with product specifications and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Verify, control, and assure that all production parameters are within the planned budget.
  • Serve as a liaison between Department Managers and Hourly Employees to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.
  • Schedule work assignments, vacations, and days off for the Hourly Employees to ensure optimal productivity and work-life balance.
  • Verify labor hours and payroll report accuracy to ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Responsible for assessing the needs and providing training to employees to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Conduct monthly safety and quality sessions to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Resolve team conflicts and issues, and document disciplinary actions and recognition.
  • Set specific and measurable goals for the department's continuous improvement.
  • Follow and direct company regulations to ensure compliance and adherence.
  • Accountable for ensuring that all safety policies and regulations are enforced.
  • Responsible for safety training, enforcement of safety rules/policies, and drug control policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the team and achieve business objectives.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 3 years of production experience in a manufacturing plant required. Bakery or food/beverage manufacturing preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory capacity or 4 years as a Lead in production required.
  • Experience in manufacturing supervisory role with a proven track record in leading manufacturing teams.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English required.
  • Experience and exposure to regulatory inspections (AIB, OSHA, MILITARY, Health Dept., EPA, City & County Inspectors).
  • Experience with Quality Systems and Programs.
  • Familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices, LEAN Manufacturing, 5's, World Class Manufacturing, and/or Six Sigma.
  • A multicultural approach to operating in a diverse business environment. Comfortable communicating and operating within an internationally matrixed environment.
  • Able to perform simple analysis.
  • SAP & Kronos knowledge preferred.
  • Be able to walk long distances and to be on his/her feet for long periods of time.
  • Able to work in dusty, noisy, hot, cold, and small areas.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including holidays and weekends.
  • Strong Computer skills including Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Be able to lift to 50lbs.
Benefits
  • Salary Range: $75,000-78,500 annually plus $3K Bonus
