Patient Care Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Coordinator to join our team at UnitedHealth Group. As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional patient care and support, ensuring a positive experience for all patients and their families.
- Coordinate patient admissions, verify and update necessary information, and complete surgical/procedure consents as required.
- Work closely with the post-anesthesia care areas to direct patients and their families to the patient bedside as needed.
- Coordinate transportation for patients and their families, ensuring timely and safe transportation from the Surgery Center.
- Manage multiple tasks and duties simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
- Answer incoming calls in a timely manner, screen calls, and provide routing information to patients in preparation for their visit.
- Distribute and communicate messages and pertinent information to staff in a timely manner.
- Act as a resource to staff, patients, and families, providing support and guidance as needed.
- Maintain stock of office supplies and prepare necessary paperwork for next-day surgery cases.
- Scan patient surgical/procedural paperwork into the electronic medical record.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ years of customer service experience preferred.
- Experience with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
- Ability to work part-time, 2 10-hour shifts per week, under operating hours of Monday-Friday 6am-6pm, with potential for occasional Saturday shifts.
- Occasional overtime may be required.
- 2+ years of work experience as a Receptionist in a medical setting.
- Experience working within the healthcare industry and with healthcare insurance.
- Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT codes.
- Experience working in a hospital, physician's office, or medical clinic setting.
- Clerical or administrative support background.
