Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Associate Director of Corporate Engagement and Foundation Relations to join our team at UTHealth Houston. This role will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding private foundations and corporate partners to support our institution's mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of corporate and foundation donors and prospects, working closely with prospect researchers to identify funding opportunities and develop plans for submission.
  • Formulate solicitation strategies in conjunction with development leadership and coordinate implementation, ensuring effective communication with donors and stakeholders.
  • Work with development staff, deans, faculty, and volunteers to identify and solicit project-driven requests, participating in solicitation calls and meetings as needed.
  • Assess prospect interest and match particular interests with school or institutional priorities, facilitating involvement of donors in assigned areas as appropriate.
  • Ensure appropriate stewardship of gifts, providing informative and regular reports to donors and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Work within current organizational systems to implement efficiently and effectively, maintaining communications modules and modifying processes as needed.
  • Engage with the University's Sponsored Project and Technology Management teams as needed to understand and manage areas of potential risk and coordinate institution-level approvals.
  • Travel as required to maintain relationships with donors and cultivate new prospects, ensuring effectiveness and appropriate utilization of resources.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience working within the non-profit sector and/or equivalent and transferable professional skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, demonstrating energetic and enthusiastic self-starter with the ability to relate well with and influence decisions of a diverse constituency.
  • Proven track record of cultivating, soliciting, and closing philanthropic gifts of $25,000 or above.
  • Ability to systematically analyze complex issues and resolve problems quickly, using discretion with sensitive material.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex information clearly in oral and written formats to a variety of audiences.
  • Skilled in working cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Experience with Raiser's Edge or similar software.
Education and Experience
  • At least a Bachelor's degree is required.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in corporate and foundation gift fundraising, preferably in higher education, healthcare, or non-profit.
Physical Requirements

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

Residency Requirement

Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
