Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at GE Aviation. As a key member of our Fluid Systems group, you will be responsible for executing the design, analysis, and evaluation of mechanical components on our large military and derivative engines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Execute the design, analysis, and evaluation of pumps, actuators, and mechanical controls for our legacy military and derivative products.
  • Technical Expertise: Develop in-depth knowledge of fluid system controls and mechanical design, using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product & program requirements.
  • Problem Solving: Investigate fuel system field issues, reduce customer disruptions, provide manufacturing support, and support product design.
  • Leadership: Contribute to the design and development of products, solutions, and systems, including activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components.
  • Collaboration: Develop strong internal and external customer relationships by serving as an interface point within GE.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or a related field, from an accredited University or College.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in an engineering position.
  • Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD security clearance.
Desired Characteristics
  • Clearance: Existing Secret US DoD clearance or higher.
  • Technical Expertise: Experience with pumps, actuators, valves, and verification activities associated at the component or system level.
  • Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Project Management: Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs, with established project management skills.
  • Mentorship: Passionate about giving and receiving mentorship.
