Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Inpatient Psychiatric Program for children and adolescents. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct and indirect care to patients, utilizing the components of the nursing process to ensure the highest level of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient-centered care, prioritizing the physical and emotional well-being of each individual
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary treatment team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Conduct thorough assessments, identifying related nursing diagnoses and developing effective interventions
  • Lead and document therapeutic groups, promoting a positive and non-punitive atmosphere
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care, adhering to regulatory and reimbursement requirements
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development of evidence-based practices
  • Act as a resource and preceptor to new staff members, promoting a culture of learning and growth
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program, with preferred experience in inpatient psychiatric care
  • Competent child and adolescent assessment skills, including use of DSM-5 major diagnostic criteria
  • Ability to develop a therapeutic relationship while maintaining professional boundaries
  • Strong knowledge base of age-specific growth and developmental stages
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage stressful situations in a calm, organized, and professional manner
Working Conditions

This position requires direct care to patients, including lifting, moving, and assisting. Regular standing, bending, walking, and lifting are also required. The work environment is a locked inpatient psychiatric program for children and adolescents, operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
