Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Inpatient Psychiatric Unit at Sheppard Pratt. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct and indirect care to patients and their families, utilizing evidence-based practices and a patient-centered approach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized care to patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement treatment plans
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients, including physical and emotional evaluations
  • Develop and implement therapeutic interventions, including individual and group therapy sessions
  • Document patient progress and outcomes in a timely and accurate manner
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions
Requirements
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Experience in inpatient psychiatric care, preferably with children and adolescents
  • Strong knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria and treatment modalities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Working Conditions

This position requires direct care to patients, including lifting, moving, and assisting. Regular standing, bending, walking, and lifting are also required. The work environment is a locked inpatient psychiatric program for children and adolescents aged four through seventeen that operates 24 hours/day, seven days a week.
