Fire Testing Technician

RCG Moody International Limited c/- Intertek, a prominent provider of quality assurance and safety solutions to many of the world's leading brands, is seeking a Fire Testing Technician to enhance our Building and Construction division. About the Building & Construction Team
The Building & Construction division delivers assurance, testing, inspection, and certification services, along with building science solutions, to ensure Total Quality Assurance in the built environment. Our team supports the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry with a comprehensive range of capabilities both in the laboratory and on-site.

Building Products Testing Solutions
From compliance with codes to performance evaluations and product certifications, we are dedicated to fostering lasting partnerships with our clients. We empower them to engage with a single source for achieving market access success for their products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct tests and evaluations on various building construction products within the laboratory.
  • Research and implement innovative testing methods and procedures.
  • Provide training and support to new team members as necessary.
  • Establish and price basic testing plans for standardized fire testing methods.
  • Review contract requirements thoroughly and document any discrepancies.
  • Inform clients of additional costs prior to incurring them.
  • Coordinate with project and department managers to optimize testing schedules and equipment usage for enhanced efficiency and client satisfaction.
  • Communicate with clients regarding test preparations, procedures, results, and reporting.
  • Draft test protocols as required and secure necessary approvals.
  • Prepare and submit precise reports for all assigned projects.
  • Invoice for all completed projects.
  • Assist in the construction and demolition of mock-up test assemblies.
  • Prepare small, intermediate, and large-scale specimens.
  • Support client product installations when necessary.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • General construction experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with tools and equipment used in building construction.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Proficient in understanding technical standards and specifications.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Physical capability to lift, push, or pull up to 75 lbs occasionally.
  • Willingness to bend, climb ladders, and work at heights up to 40 feet.
  • Flexibility to travel as required by business needs, including occasional overnight trips.
  • Valid driver's license and a reliable driving record are required.
