Job Overview

Objective: The Equipment Maintenance Specialist is tasked with the setup, repair, and upkeep of manufacturing machinery and tools. This role encompasses machine assembly, integration testing, and troubleshooting. The Specialist collaborates with Operations and Engineering teams to maintain existing manufacturing systems and to innovate new equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct repairs and maintenance on manufacturing machinery and tools.
  2. Implement the preventative maintenance strategy for the manufacturing facility to reduce unexpected downtime.
  3. Carry out process setups and transitions on manufacturing equipment.
  4. Diagnose issues in the electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems of automated and semi-automated machinery.
  5. Maintain precise and timely maintenance records within a digital system.
  6. Contribute to overall plant maintenance metrics, including equipment availability, repair time, and timely completion of maintenance tasks.
  7. Assist in the setup, debugging, and troubleshooting of new and replicated machinery.
  8. Adhere to equipment setup and adjustment protocols.
  9. Oversee basic machine enhancements, including field wiring and mechanical sub-assembly.
  10. Act as a technical resource to provide training on essential equipment and processes.
  11. Manage multiple tasks simultaneously and work autonomously.
  12. Collaborate with Operations to prioritize tasks and minimize machinery downtime.
  13. Comply with all site and local safety regulations while performing duties.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Maintenance Technician or cable manufacturing position.

2. Exceptional observational abilities to identify minor discrepancies in equipment functionality, utilizing deductive reasoning to determine causes.

3. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational, prioritization, and follow-up capabilities, ensuring accurate maintenance and equipment logs.

4. Proficient mechanical skills and knowledge, including the use of various tools for drilling, tapping, grinding, and cutting.

5. Operational understanding of control relays, pneumatic solenoids, PLCs, servo motors, stepper motors, and operator interfaces.

6. Competent in Microsoft Excel and Word.

7. Strong multitasking abilities, efficiently completing several concurrent tasks.

8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to read and write in English.

9. Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimal supervision.

10. Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills, contributing to a collaborative and productive work atmosphere.

11. Ability to rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and achieve goals across various tasks.

12. Capacity to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with all organizational levels.

13. Physical Requirements: Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds regularly from floor to waist.

14. Safety Considerations: Must be willing to work with chemicals, machinery, and high-temperature processes, adhering to all safety regulations and wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
