Key Responsibilities- Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Preventative Maintenance: Execute a preventative maintenance plan to identify and address potential issues before they become major problems.
- Process Setup and Changeovers: Set up and change over manufacturing equipment to meet production demands.
- Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to quickly resolve issues and minimize downtime.
- Maintenance Records: Maintain accurate and timely maintenance records within our electronic system.
- Plant Maintenance KPIs: Support overall plant maintenance KPIs, including equipment uptime, time to repair, and on-time completion of PM tasks.
- New Equipment Setup: Support the setup, debug, and troubleshooting of new equipment.
- Equipment Upgrades: Manage basic machine upgrades, including field wiring and mechanical sub-assembly.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support and training to production staff on key equipment and processes.
- Multi-Tasking: Manage multiple concurrent tasks and work independently to meet production demands.
- Collaboration: Work closely with operations to understand priorities and minimize machine downtime.
- Safety: Follow all site and local safety standards while performing work.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 3+ Years of Experience: 3+ years of experience in a maintenance technician or cable manufacturing role.
- Observational Skills: Excellent observational skills to recognize small discrepancies in equipment function and use deductive reasoning to identify causes.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with excellent organization, prioritization, and follow-up skills to maintain accurate records.
- Mechanical Skills: Strong mechanical skills and knowledge, including use of various tools for drilling, tapping, grinding, cutting, etc.
- Operational Knowledge: Operational knowledge of control relays, pneumatic solenoids, PLCs, servo motors, stepper motors, operator interfaces, etc.
- Software Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Multi-Tasking: Strong multi-tasking skills to complete several concurrent tasks in an efficient and accurate manner.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to read and write in English.
- Leadership Skills: Possesses leadership and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly from floor to waist.
- Hazards: Willingness to work with and around chemicals, machines, and high-temperature process tooling and equipment, and follow all safety regulations and wear required protective gear (PPE).
