About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Chief Security and Safety Operations Manager to join our team at the Columbus Museum of Art. The successful candidate will provide leadership in supporting our policies and procedures to ensure the safety of people and security of museum property.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor Safety and Security: Responsible for monitoring safety and security through computer-based programs, on-foot patrols of the property, and radio and phone communications.
  • Lead Team Members: Work directly with the Safety and Security team, as well as other departments within the museum, to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Manage Access Control Systems: Manage and monitor building access points, including computerized access control systems, CCTV surveillance, and alarm systems.
  • Incident Response: Serve as the first responder for incidents, including injuries, emergency situations, and de-escalation.
  • Report Writing: Accurately document and report incidents, using independent judgment to identify issues and find solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Possess excellent interpersonal and non-verbal communication skills to create a welcoming experience for staff and guests.
  • Teamwork: Work collaboratively with colleagues to improve team effectiveness and adhere to standards of appearance, attitude, and performance.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Security Experience: 1 year of security supervisory experience, preferably in a similar setting.
  • Certifications: First Aid, CPR, AED Certification preferred.
  • Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents, handle stress in emergency situations, and maintain confidentiality.
