Position Overview:

As a Meat Processing Specialist, your primary role involves the precise cutting of various meat types for both food service and retail distribution, ensuring optimal product utilization.

Key Duties:

  • Accurately assess product quality and allocate accordingly.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work area and tools before and after processing.
  • Inspect all equipment to confirm proper functionality.
  • Handle products appropriately to maximize shelf life.
  • Store surplus products correctly.
  • Complete all orders promptly.
  • Notify supervisors of any discrepancies or issues.
  • Adhere to USDA/HACCP regulations.
  • Perform thorough clean-up of the workstation and department.
  • Report quality concerns to supervisors and merchandising teams.
  • Weigh and label products for orders.
  • Assist in packaging meat orders.
  • Complete daily USDA/HACCP documentation.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications for Success at Pacific Seafood:

Essential:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience or training, or a suitable combination of education and experience.
Desirable:
  • Proficient in portion control cutting of pork, lamb, beef, and poultry.
